Features

  • 🌅

    One Pokémon a day

At 7am it shows the weekday, a sprite, the Pokémon's name and its type, then sleeps until the next morning.

  • 🎴

All 251 from Gen I and II

Each Pokémon appears exactly once in every 251-day cycle, in a fixed shuffled order.

  • 🖼️

    Dot-shaded Crystal sprites

Pokémon Crystal sprites shaded with black-and-white dot patterns for a crisp 200 × 200 e-paper panel.

  • 📴

    Fully offline

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are never switched on. No accounts, no telemetry, no cloud.

  • 🔋

    Sleeps between mornings

It spends the day in deep sleep while the e-paper holds the picture without power. The card only shows CHARGE! when the battery needs it.

  • 🧒

    Made for a kid's room

No menus, games, scores or streaks, and nothing to tap. The two buttons are for the grown-up setting it up.

  • 🦀

    Rust firmware

no_std Rust on the ESP32-S3, with checksummed releases and a small CLI that sets the clock over USB.

Runs on the Waveshare ESP32-S3-ePaper-1.54 (V2) board with a protected 3.7 V lithium battery. Flashing and setup need an x86-64 Linux computer.
